Do you have a new year’s resolution to be more active? Sticking with it can be tough, especially in the rainy, winter months so we’ve put together a couple tips and a heart-pumping, throwback playlist to help you stay motivated and reach your goals in 2020.

Try out a new activity or class

Getting active doesn’t mean you have to hit the treadmill every day, there are lots of other ways you can burn some energy. Many gyms offer group classes from Pilates to kickboxing along with their membership and some gyms offer your first class free so trying a new class could spice up your workout routine.

Recreational sports leagues are also gearing up for the spring and summer seasons so if you’ve been curious about joining a team now is the time to explore your options. Other people are probably joining teams and going to classes while working on their New Year’s Resolutions as well, which could also give you the opportunity to meet new workout buddies.

Find something that you like and stick with it

Whether it’s going for a bike ride on the weekend or hitting a yoga class after work, it’s a lot easier to stick with something you enjoy and look forward to. Take the time to figure out the activities you like doing and your workout routine will be on a roll.

Get a workout partner

Achieving your fitness goals can be a lot easier if you have a partner to hold you to working out regularly. Get together with a friend, family member, or even a co-worker, and set a consistent workout time and routine.
